Symptom: The engine cranks but won't fire, sometimes on and off, with no fuel pump hum when you turn the key.

Likely causes

  1. TIPM relay. Minivan Fan Club owners trace crank-no-start to the fuel pump relay in the TIPM. They test with a temporary bypass and fix it permanently with an external relay or relay repair.
  2. Pump. If the relay checks out, the fuel pump itself may be failing.

DIY or shop?

DIY for many owners. Don't leave a test bypass installed. Owners warn it can keep the pump running.

Useful steps

  1. Listen for the pump at key-on.
  2. Test the relay circuit.
  3. Fit a proper external relay or repaired TIPM.

Safety / mechanic note

A stall or no-start can strand you. Never leave a jumper bypass in place. Verify with a mechanic or dealer.
